Japanese seed beads and Czech two-hole tile beads are used in the design. Working the design lengthwise in flat Ndebele (herringbone) stitch gives the necklace a soft, light-weight drape. The necklace is comprised of five strands, each longer than the previous one. When working the flat Ndebele stitch, a size 15° bead is used on the edge to execute the turn. It is these beads that create the edging on the Ndebele strands. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinished Length: The pattern as written will result in a necklace that is 24 inches in length when measured lengthwise from the clasp to the center of the longest strand and multiplied by two. The length is easily adjusted by lengthening or shortening the length of the each of the five strands or each of the single Ndebele strands distal to the cascading strands. To add or remove length, add or remove rows of flat Ndebele between the tile beads on each of the cascading strands. Each row of Ndebele measures approximately 1\/16th inch. Four rows measures approximately 1\/4 inch. The individual strand (from shortest to longest) measure 9.5 inches, 11 inches, 12.25 inches, 14 inches and 15 inches.
